About Riversong Community Association

Founded in 2024 and incorporated as a non-profit with the Province of Alberta, the Riversong Community Association (RCA) is dedicated to fostering a strong, connected, and vibrant community. The Riversong Community Association includes the neighbourhoods of Riversong, Riviera, and Precedence. These are the three neighbourhoods that make up the South Ridge Area Structure Plan (SR-ASP) in the Town of Cochrane (see map of area to the right). As our neighbourhood continues to grow, RCA serves as a vital voice for our residents, ensuring that our community's needs and aspirations are well-represented and addressed within the Town of Cochrane.

Our association is run entirely by a passionate and committed volunteer board of directors, reflecting our community's spirit of engagement and cooperation. We are focused on enhancing the quality of life in Riversong by organizing events, initiatives, and projects that encourage participation and strengthen community bonds. We are committed to advocating for our community with the Town of Cochrane and keeping our members informed about important changes, including local developments that may impact the community of Riversong and the surrounding area.

At RCA, we prioritize transparency, respect, and accountability in all our endeavors. We strive to be a catalyst for positive change, advocating for our residents while promoting a culture of volunteerism and community involvement. Our goal is to create a thriving environment where every resident feels valued and connected.

Join us in shaping the future of Riversong, where every voice matters, and together, we build a community we are all proud to call home.

Why form a community association?

Forming the Riversong Community Association as a formal non-profit organization provides us with several key advantages that enhance our neighbourhood. One of the primary benefits is our ability to apply for grants from the Town of Cochrane, the Province of Alberta, and other organizations. These grants enable us to secure funding for projects and initiatives that directly benefit our community, from organizing events to improving local infrastructure.

Beyond financial support, a structured community association offers a formal framework for addressing neighbourhood concerns and opportunities. It provides a platform for residents to come together, voice their needs, and work collaboratively towards common goals. This organized approach ensures that we can effectively advocate for our community, engage in meaningful dialogue with local authorities, and make a positive impact on our surroundings.

By establishing a community association, we create a cohesive and empowered group that can drive positive change and enhance the quality of life in Riversong.

Vision

Riversong Community Association envisions a dynamic and flourishing neighbourhood where residents actively engage, support one another, and celebrate the natural beauty and growth of our community.

We aim to be a model of community spirit and volunteerism, fostering a connected, inclusive, and vibrant environment for all.

Mission

The mission of Riversong Community Association is to listen to and advocate for the needs of our residents, creating opportunities for meaningful involvement and enhancing the quality of life in our neighbourhood.

Through transparent and accountable leadership, we strive to organize events and initiatives that strengthen community bonds and promote a shared sense of belonging.
