We are excited to share progress on the Park Planning Project and update you on key developments:
Survey Feedback
We want to thank everyone who participated in our recent survey. Your input has been invaluable.
​Key Findings:
The majority of respondents expressed interest in a long-term improvement plan that incorporates Riversong's three playgrounds, while prioritizing the Precedence area. Some community members have also offered to join the working group to assist in planning efforts.
​Ideas and Suggestions:
Participants emphasized the importance of creating inclusive spaces, such as adding features that cater to all age groups and addressing the immediate need for a playground in the Precedence area.

Sub-Group Formation and Working Group Preparation
We have formed a sub-group within the board that will be focused on facilitating the formation of a working group, which will be composed of community association members.

Purpose of the Working Group:
The working group will have input into the park's design and development, addressing the community's needs and priorities. The working group will work collaboratively with the Town of Cochrane's Parks Department and will be integral to community planning and development, ensuring that diverse perspectives are represented and incorporated into the decision-making process.
Next Steps:
Our quarterly board meeting is scheduled for February 6th, where we will finalize sub-group roles and responsibilities. At this time, we will also finalize the process for working group applications and determine how best to engage the entire community for feedback—whether they are members of the association or not.
How You Can Get Involved:
Opportunities to join the working group will be announced shortly after the meeting. Applications will be accepted via in-person discussions or digital communication platforms.
Precedence Park
The Precedence Park remains a priority for the Town of Cochrane, the Riversong Community Association Board of Directors and will be a focus for the working group.

Developer Ownership:
Precedence park is still under ownership by the developer. It is scheduled to be turned over to the Town of Cochrane in 2026.
Developer Communication:
We received correspondence from Drew Hyndman, Executive Director, Development & Infrastructure Services and are currently awaiting a response from the developer regarding their plans for the Precedence park/green space. The park/green space has not yet been completed according to the redesign plan established in January 2024. We will provide details on the additional work still to be completed by the developer in this space once we receive feedback from the Town.
